There were so many times this year I didn’t think I’d ever get to type these two words.

Everything seemed to get in the way.

But mostly it was me.

Sutton & I have been on such a journey together, learning to let go.

As I prepare to finish my second book, I can’t help but think about where this world started….

With a woman who loses her husband & retreats to the shadows to heal. With a woman who moves into a new home & gets adopted by a dog.

Here’s to 42 trips around the sun!

This past year has been the best & most challenging year of my life.

I published my first book.
Fell in love with middle school ELA.
Celebrated 20 years of marriage.
Traveled to Tahiti, Moorea, & Bor

This week is a big week and I’m going to be much quieter than normal.

I’ll be busy finishing the first draft of Now & Then (follow my stories for the chaos), celebrating my birthday tomorrow (yay for my 42nd chapter!) annnnnnd gettin

I never know how to describe Until Then because, to me, it’s more than a romance between a man and a woman.

It’s friendship.
It’s family. 
It’s grief and healing.
It’s the beauty of what once was and the hope of what&rs
Just reminding myself:

This is first draft mode.

This when perfection whispers but imposter syndrome shouts.

This is the messy draft.

This is the sand-on-your-hands part. 

Perfection can wait.

The sandcastles will come.
